Money isn’t everything! What media start-ups really need (besides funding)
In the pastHow can media start-ups not only launch, but also grow? We joined the annual Netzwerk Recherche conference to discuss what young media projects really need to succeed, and how funding programs like the Media Forward Fund can provide targeted support.

Starting a new media outlet is easy. But building an audience, establishing yourself in the market, and possibly even growing, that’s incredibly hard.
Many fail because they run out of money. But quite often it's also due to a lack of entrepreneurial skills.
Using the findings of the “Journalism Value Report” published by Netzwerk Recherche, we discussed what media start-ups need, beyond funding, to succeed and thereby strengthen media diversity.
